WIRELESS BROADBAND NOW AVAILABLE IN HAWAII KAI
Broadcasting from atop the Mt Terrace Condominium, the newest Skywave Smart Building

Honolulu, Hawaii--High-speed internet access via "land line connections" such as the service provided by Road Runner, is quickly becoming old technology as the world of "Wi-Fi" takes command of the airwaves in Hawaii. Skywave Broadband recently extended its wirless broadband signal into Hawaii Kai, making it the first and only wireless Internet Service Provided (ISP) currently offering services to this section of the island.

Skywave's powerful broadband signal is beaming from the rooftop of the Mt Terrace Condominium at 250 Kawaihae Street. "If you can see the Mt. Terrace condominium from your house or business location, we can provide you with wireless Internet connection. It's a great alternative to anyone who wants internet access without the hassle of wiring their home or business," says Joshua Beil, vice president and cofounder of Skywave Broadband.

Hourly, daily, and weekly rates are available. "This is ideal for visitors or short-term residents who simply wanting a temporary connection," Beil comments. Customers can purchase an antenna or card from Skywave directly or get advice from Skywave experts on what technology they may need to purchase to receive the Skywave transmit. "Users typically need a small, directional antenna or a high-powered wireless card to connect to the Skywave network," Skywave's chief technologist and cofounder, Matthew Ganote explains. "Both download and upload speeds are up to 1.5mbps, which is the same download as DSL and better upload speeds than both DSL and most features offered by Roadrunner."

Users that can detect the Skywave wireless network can provide credit card information and logon immediately. Monthly recurring customer signals can be configured to have an "always on" connection and will not have to logon each time to use the Internet.

The Mt Terrace Condo is also a newly designated Skywave Smart Building, making every unit in the building broadband-ready through existing power outlets. Skywave's Smart Building solution uses powerline communication technology from Telkonet. Skywave is the master distributor and only licensed Telkonet integrator in Hawaii.
